Gennae Hinson

Gennae Hinson is an Acedemic Advisor at Montclair State University, where she earned her B.A. in Sociology and M.A. in Counseling.

Gennae Hinson is a dedicated professional, passionate about assisting students and helping them reach their personal educational and career goals. She teaches academic and career skills to develop strategies to help students manage and simplify the overall job process and life skills necessary to be successful both on and off the job.

A professional in higher education since December 1999, Gennae has advised students with varied academic needs and guided them through the dynamic cycles of the education process. She began her career as a Human Resources Recruiting Representative with First U.S.A. Bank, where she recruited, screened, interviewed and tested applicants for highly desirable positions within the company. Prior to becoming an Academic Advisor, Gennae worked as an Admissions Counselor advising and recruiting students for college admission. Her combined work experience and educational background has proven to be an asset in understanding the needs of students in today’s job market and assisting them in reaching their goals.

Gennae enjoys travel, fitness, and assisting people to grow personally and professionally as demonstrated by her commitment to Life Management (Urban development organization committed to advancing opportunities and providing access for young men and women of Newark, NJ).
